Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
Romans 8:33
God justifies
Paul wants to help his readers and also us to see and experience the freedom in which we may stand because we know Christ. Almost triumphantly he poses the question: Who will accuse God's elect? Who would dare to do this? There is at least one who time and again ties to do this: Satan, the enemy of the light. He does everything he can to get God's children to think that salvation is not for them. 'You are such a sinner, do you really think that God notices you?' 'Just look at all those mistakes you made in your life, would God really be able to do something with you?' When these kind of accusations go through our minds, we may learn to shake them off and listen to the loving voice of God: 'You are my beloved. You are justified. You are completely free.' Prayer: Thank you, Jesus Christ, that I am free because of you. Through your Spirit keep me in this freedom.
